1. Course Overview: Meet your Coach Vanessa McCoy!

Vanessa competed in Olympic Weightlifting for over 10 years. In that time, she won the USA Weightlifting National Championships, American Open, and the National University Championships. She also holds medals in international competition at the World University Championships, and most recently won a bronze medal in the Olympic Test Event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Team USA. She was a competitive gymnast in her youth, and has been coaching gymnastics for the past 15 years.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Why the Snatch?

The snatch is one of the premier barbell tests for mobility, coordination, strength, and patience. There are few movements in sport that require the wide range of mobility for your full body, and this course will serve as an introduction into developing the most mobile, comfortable, and strong positions in your overhead squat and ultimately your snatch.


What is this course?

You will be taken through the step by step discussion and application for mobility requirements, positional awareness, and the corresponding drill work to develop an understanding of how the snatch can be best performed to maximize both efficient movement quality and athletic performance.
